Beginners' Course

If you are interested in learning to sail, why not join one of our beginners’ courses? These start in April, so please use the contact form to find out the latest information.

You don't need any special equipment, just a full change of clothes; we will supply the boats and buoyancy aids. When competent you will be able to use the boats at other times as part of your membership fees.

We are also a Sailability Club and can cater for people with special needs.

Use the form on the contact page, making sure you select The beginners' course.

I find sailing really empowering. It is a new skill that I’ve acquired and along the way I have grown in confidence as a person and made some great friends while enjoying the outdoors and staying fit.

Sailing also gives me the opportunity to take time out from the academic challenges of school allowing for headspace and self reflection. It’s a great way to learn from each other and would recommend it.

The best thing about sailing is racing with other juniors the same age group and similar ability as it makes it more competitive and more fun. Racing gives you better opportunity to improve and learn from others. Following a course in low winds makes it more interesting and challenging.
