WiSH Ent Northern.png

We are delighted to be hosting the Enterprise Association's Northern Area Championship and National Circuit Event on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th July. We are expecting crews from all parts of the country to compete over six races across the weekend.

This will be an important weekend for our club.

  1. A wonderful social occasion when all members of the club can enjoy a licenced hog roast on Saturday evening

  2. Our sailors can compete against some of the best crews in the country.

  3. A chance to help through volunteering opportunities

The Hog Roast Saturday 9th July

This will be main social event of the weekend, and the first chance we have had as new club to come together and enjoy each other's company. We will be having a special licence for the event, so there will be a bar, and a catering company to supply a hog roast. A vegetarian option will be available.

More details to follow, but please use the link below to book your tickets. You will not be able to book tickets on the day.

Competitive Sailing

We are expecting crews from across the country to take part in the six races over the two days. We are hoping that as many WiSH members as possible will take part. There will be no club races that weekend, so there will be plenty of sailors from solos, lasers, GP14s, fireflies and wayfarers available to crew for Enterprise helms.

WiSH members do not need to pay the usual supplement for not being a member of the Enterprise Association.

The final results will be taken from your five best performances.

Volunteering Opportunities

Hosting this event will only successfully run as a result of members giving of their time and expertise.

We are looking for three areas of volunteer assistance.

  1. The working party. This is to prepare the club and the boat park for the event, and then to tidy it all up afterwards.

  2. The Galley Crew. Visiting sailors will be camping at the club on Friday and Saturday evenings. The galley will be open for meals across the weekend, so staffing will rely on a team of volunteers.

  3. The weekend volunteers. We will need to provide the usual support such as safety boat, jetty minders and general helpers to make sure the Saturday evening hog roast runs smoothly. "Being there" to make the day run smoothly.
