We were delighted to host our third WiSH Challenger Regatta over this weekend. For those who are unsure, the Challenger is a 15' single-handed trimaran which is predominantly sailed and raced by disabled and less mobile sailors.

The RYA Sailability programme which is dedicated to inspiring more disabled people to lead active lives through boating.

Northern National Event Incorporating Masters' Championships 8th - 9th July 2023

We were delighted to host the Masters’ even this year. The weather was initially very kind, with the first two races run in good winds, but the predicted electric storms appeared at the start of the third race, which necessitated an early abandonment.

Saturday evening was the hotpot social where competitors, volunteers, and club members, old and new, enjoyed a pleasant evening together before yet another deluge.

Those down early for Sunday breakfast were a little concerned about the dead calm conditions, but the wind gradually increased to create some very acceptable racing conditions.

This event was only possible through a huge volunteer effort from WiSH members. The Enterprise Association and competitors made their gratitude very clear!
